Hamas demands UN oversight of Gaza aid distribution

Hamas urged reinstating UN-led aid distribution in Gaza, condemning Israel’s deadly system as a tool of war. The group accused the Israeli army of targeting shelters, hospitals, and desalination plants, worsening starvation and thirst.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hamas has called for restoring international aid distribution mechanisms in Gaza under the supervision of the United Nations and its specialized agencies, rejecting Israel’s current system which it described as deadly and exploitative.

In a statement released Monday, the Movement accused Israel of continuing its crimes against unarmed civilians in Gaza through a US-backed aid delivery scheme that has turned into fatal ambushes run by occupation forces.

Hamas further alleged that the Israeli army deliberately targets schools and displacement centers on a daily basis, killing and injuring numerous displaced families.

It also highlighted systematic Israeli attacks on Gaza’s health sector, including hospitals and medical centers, which have already been severely damaged.

The statement warned that the occupation forces have escalated their strikes on Gaza’s few remaining desalination plants, weaponizing thirst alongside starvation against hundreds of thousands of civilians.

Hamas urged the international community, including Arab and Islamic nations and relevant global institutions, to fulfill their moral and legal duties by urgently intervening to halt Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.
